Thanks again for those who have been sending me well wishes. Greatly appreciated you have no idea. Many continue to ask, when will I be back on the court. Well, it was a replacement and even though I'm walking well the swelling doesn't seem to give up yet. My physical therapist are pleased with my progress as am I but it still is going to be awhile before actual play on the courts takes place. I'm starting to coach again but too much activity makes it swell and back to the ice bag. Swimming two to three times a week on non PT days keeps it moving and is a great workout.
I have been going up to the courts to monitor and be sure everyone "toes" the line one way or another, LOL, but I just can only sit and watch. But you know I don't really mind too much. I get a chance to evaluate, critique and learn what the lower level players tend to do as well as the higher level players. I even get to watch some of my favorite players and learn from their best practices. Not coming from a tennis background personally, I get to watch those who have. I study when they choose to hit the shots they do and possibly why. Thanks again for those who have been sending me well wishes. Greatly appreciated you have no idea. I study when they choose to hit the shots they do and possibly why. I have also been watching several of the recent national top level players videos that have been posted. These are must see videos if you really want to see what is happening and where pickleball is going. The younger the players get the faster the game evolves. But the whole beauty of pickleball is that it can be played at any speed, any age, at any level and just about in any place if you have space. What a great game! Thanks for all the well wishing, cards and concerns. It's such a nice feeling to be supported. Going on week #7 and moving along. Up to 110* in bend but it's not easy. Almost completely flat on the extension and walking without limp. I cannot do those steps going down but going up is getting stronger.
I started swimming last week and that's been a God send. It feels so good to do something more than just sitting around. Endurance is and muscle strength have lapsed and will need a lot of work. Heck, I'm not a tourney player but I still need to get back what I lost. My next goal is to be able to do those steps up and down. I'm coaching a little bit again and hope to continue to get back to that on a regular basis soon. Just don't want to push it. I've been posting on the CPR Facebook. I hope you have been following that as well. I'm trying to get more drills up so that we can share. If you have a dirll post it up. Again thanks for the support. Keep pickling and Paddle up to play! |
