What a great adventure to travel. One to another state where the people were warm and inviting with the "Yes, Mam and Yes, Sir" in conversation. A slower paced life to some extent but a Birmingham is on the rise. A city of historical significance and strength.
The food was good and the southern hospitality was amazing. We had time to tour after we played pickleball. It's a walkable town. Although I never realized how hilly it would be. I was reconnected with some friends I've made through the USAPA and even had the opportunity to say hello to other Ohio players. Heck, you go a long distance to play the same people in some of these tourneys when you could have just played them at home. NO... really the experience of going is what it was all about. Good times and good people. Thanks, Birmingham Alabama for a great venue and wonderful hospitality. Just hope I can continue to play and make it again. Maybe Albuquerque NM in two years. |
